Sri Muthukumaran Institute of Technology (SMIT) is a Self financing Engineering college located in the Kundrathur main road at a distance of around 15 km from the Chennai city and started in the year 1996. SMIT has been granted Autonomous status by the University Grants Commission (UGC), enhances the institution’s academic flexibility and quality initiatives. The Institution is approved by AICTE, New Delhi & affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The Institute has got recognition from UGC under 2(f) and 12(B) scheme and participated in the National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF) process. Our college has also participated in the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE). The college is in the 30th year of illustrious functioning and contributing to the cause of Engineering & Management Education. The Institution is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with ‘A’ Grade in the year 2024.
